About

Christian Centre of Excellence

Our history, vision, mission, and the hospital board that governs the College of Health Sciences.

Since 1987

Our history

Established in 1987 as the Tenwek School of Nursing, the Tenwek Hospital College School of Health Sciences has since grown to become a household name in the training of quality medical practitioners in Kenya. The school graduated its first class of Registered Community Health Nurses in 1999 and has continued to do so for the past 30 years.

We have diversified our training modules and continue to adapt to changing environmental needs by enhancing our curriculum to incorporate both classroom learning and clinical rounds. At the moment, the school offers training in Diploma in Nursing and Diploma in Clinical Medicine. We are still working on diversifying our course portfolio and hope to begin Accident and Emergency Training, Anesthesia Training, Critical Care Training, and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (in partnership with Kenya Highland University).
